Takayama Festival Held in Gifu Pref. with Visitors Captivated by Float Processions, Blooming Cherry Blossoms

Lavish festival floats cross a bridge on Tuesday during the Takayama Festival in Takayama, Gifu Prefecture. Visitors were captivated by the float processions, which are listed as an UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, and the cherry blossoms currently in full bloom. Twelve floats featuring intricate carvings and elaborate decorations walked in procession and karakuri puppet performances took place on the floats. The festival will also be held on Wednesday.
