Body Found in Kyoto Pref. Forest Confirmed to Be Missing 11-Year-Old Boy (UPDATE 1)

KYOTO — A body believed to be that of a child found in a wooded area in Nantan, Kyoto Prefecture, has been confirmed to belong to Yuki Adachi, a sixth-grader at Sonobe Elementary School who went missing near the school late last month, The Yomiuri Shimbun has learned.

A forensic autopsy conducted on Tuesday identified the body as Adachi’s, according to Kyoto prefectural police.

The police assume he died in late March.

No major cuts or other wounds were found on his body, and a cause of death has yet to be identified.
