Cherry Blossoms Bloom in Japan’s Saga; 3 Days Earlier Than Average

SAGA — The cherry blossom season has started, the Saga Local Meteorological Observatory announced on Saturday, reporting that the city’s someiyoshino trees have begun to bloom.

The blooming arrived three days earlier than the average year and four days earlier than last year.

Officials confirmed the blossoms on a designated sample tree located on the grounds of the observatory.

The trees are expected to reach full bloom in about a week to 10 days.
