Tokyo’s Cherry Blossoms Reach Peak Bloom; Ueno Park Crowded with Viewers

Cherry blossom trees of the Someiyoshino variety have reached full bloom in Tokyo, the Japan Meteorological Agency announced Saturday.

Peak bloom came three days earlier than the yearly average.

The announcement was based on the observation of a tree used as reference in Yasukuni Shrine in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo.
