Tohoku Shinkasen Services Being Delayed Due to Earthquake That Hits Japan’s Kanto Region

Some services are currently being delayed on the Tohoku Shinkansen line between Sendai and Tokyo stations due to an earthquake on Wednesday morning, according to East Japan Railway Co.

A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Ibaraki and neighboring prefectures at about 10:06 a.m. on Wednesday, registering lower 5 out of 7 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale in southern Tochigi Prefecture.
