520 Japan COVID-19 deaths confirmed in single day, exceeding 500 for 1st time

For the first time in Japan, more than 500 people died of novel coronavirus on a single day, it was confirmed Wednesday. The figures show that some 520 people died within a 24-hour period, surpassing the previous single-day death record of 498 on Jan. 5.
