White Wisteria Blooms over Pond at Scenic Garden in Japan’s Ehime Pref.

UWAJIMA, Ehime — Noborifuji white wisteria is blooming at Tensha-en garden in Uwajima, Ehime Prefecture. On the wisteria’s trellis — which spans the pond like a bridge — the branches stretch upward, adorned with white flowers. Their peak viewing period will last about a week.

According to a local group that manages the garden, which has been designated as a national place of scenic beauty, the wisteria began blooming on April 3 and is currently about 50% in bloom. The entire 24-meter-long trellis is dyed white, and its reflection shimmers on the water’s surface.

A 59-year-old woman visiting from Kuki, Saitama Prefecture said, “It’s so gorgeous and beautiful.”
