MASUDA, Shimane — A 450-year-old weeping willow cherry tree in Masuda, Shimane Prefecture, is attracting visitors with its blossoms in full bloom.

The 10-meter-tall tree is in Ikoji Temple, which is known for its history related to Sesshu, the prominent Japanese master of ink painting in Muromachi Period (1336-1573).

According to the temple official, the tree began blooming around March 22, and quickly reached peak bloom due to the warm weather this week. Visitors can enjoy the blossoms until the end of this month.
