The cherry blossom trees that line the Fukuoka Weir in Tsukubamirai, Ibaraki Prefecture, are now at their most beautiful.

According to the city’s tourism association, the approximately 450 trees lining a 1.8-kilometer weir reached full bloom on Tuesday. Weather permitting, visitors can enjoy the sight of the cherry blossoms reflected in the waterway, resembling a mirror, as well as the “flower rafts” formed by fallen petals floating on the water’s surface.

The “Sakura Festival” is scheduled to take place in the area until April 7, with a food festival will also held in a nearby park on Saturday and Sunday.
